Custom Figure - Monsterarts Godzilla 2.0 (3/3) by GIGAN05 Custom Figure - Monsterarts Godzilla 2.0 (3/3) by GIGAN05
Surprise 8-).

Since the MA Burning Godzilla was such a huge improvement over the standard Godzilla, I decided to get a 2nd one and paint it to look like the normal Godzilla. The bdy came out great but the spines could of fared better.

I feel conflicted on it- on one hand I think it's a neat idea and I wouldn't mind having one, but there's still a lot of MA's I gotta catch up on. So I probably won't be getting it immediately.

Cool for people who missed out on the first version.

How did you get the paint to match up? What paint did you use.

Finally got my Burning Godzilla from this line.... and I'm mad because I can't get his head (actually the whole neck) to stay on. Do you have this problem or anything?

Nope, but there are ways to fix it depending on ether;

A. Its loose because it wont click back in the neck joint?

B. Its loose whilst in the joint?

I'm not hearing/feeling anything click when I put it back in, and I have applied a large amount of pressure, so..... it seems to stay if I don't move anything on the neck or head, but comes off VERY easily when I attempt even slight movements. The problem joint seems to the be the very bottommost ball-joint, where the neck attaches to the main body.

Ok, in that case what you need to do is remove the head and neck from the figure, then apply a hair dryer to the neck joint slot in the figure on max power for a few seconds. This will briefly soften up the plastic in that area and in turn you should be able to click the neck and head back in with no problems.

Hope this helps.

Its the tragedy of bandai brands. Look at the earliers S.H. Figuarts... not nearly as good as the later stuff. I just wish Bandai would go back and make an official Godzilla in this vain.

That being stated, I wish they'd go back and re-do kamen rider black and black RX's figuarts...

Sad thing is, it probably wont happen at all. They have no intention on re-doing Black and Black RX... which is so sad...

In what ways is the Burning version better than the standard? I have the standard 'zilla, and I want to know if it's worth my time (and money) to get the Burning Godzilla.

(not sure, but you might remember me from a different name.... I had/have MA MOGERA, MG, and the Garuda set, besides Godzilla)

First off, the articulation is a huge improvement. You can do a lot more with it and it doesn't feel as restrained as the standard one. You can make him sit down and do Kung fu kicks so to speak :P.

Another one is the sculpt. Granted, Yuji Sakai worked on both Godzilla's, but Burning Godzilla just looks better for some reason.

The reason why it is a bit more pricey is because of the translucent material used for the burning patches.

Interesting.

More expensive just because of some translucent bits? I'm already starting to feel bent over.... :nuu:

Plus the extended articulation could play a part in the price increase.

It ranges depending who your going for and where you get them from.

Little Godzilla, Fire Rodan & Godzilla Junior are usually just above the $30 mark.

Godzilla 1994, Mechagodzilla , Spacegodzilla , Moguera, King Kong and Burning Godzilla range from $40 - $70.

While King Ghidorah and Destoroyah are over $100.

So if your on a budget, pick wisely. And remember theres shipping to take into account. Luckly for you Bluefin Distribution bring them over to the USA and sell them on Amazon and other places they provide these figures to.

I think that with that knowledge, this is much lower on my priorities list. First I gotta get a better job, save up enough money and a steady income that's viable for me to get a place of my own and feed myself.
Then I'll get one of these - if only to collect dust on a Shelf.
